Mibbs & Scoop DeVille Talk About Their Upcoming EP

Mibbs and Scoop Deville sat down with Janice LLamoca to discuss their joint EP, Freebass, which will be entirely produced by Scoop DeVille. “The sound is a really obscure way of making like, I would say, real bass-y 808 heavy grimy music… It’s a special piece of hip-hop,” said Scoop of the project’s sound. Scoop and Mibbs also gave us a little preview of the EP’s title track, “Freebass,” which you can see them playfully perform it throughout the interview.

Coinciding with the release of GMB today, Rolling Stone debuted Pac Div’s latest video that features Mac Miller and was directed by Austin Winchell.
“The energy behind this song has a very laid back [yet] aggressive feel,” Pac Div member Mibbs tells Rolling Stone. “It’s the perfect medium for what we wanted to convey to the fans: a quiet cockiness.” The arrogance is certainly there – the hook is “Y’all think I made it/ I’m just getting started” – but there’s also a strong amount of humor, too. After Mibbs delivers the line “I just got excited, man/ I almost farted,” his blonde companion looks over, disgusted.
